NEWBURY — Board of Health approves one septic variance and tables another pending testing. Chair Steven Fram and Member Ginny King voted unanimously to approve the variance for 77 Pine Island Road, which reduces the required setback distance from 100 feet to 58 feet for a Presby Enviro-Septic System leach field. Septic designer Bob Grasso submitted the request.
The board also tabled a second variance request for 11 Bayview Lane, voting unanimously to defer the decision pending additional soil testing to determine whether a suitable location on the property could provide greater separation from an abutter's private drinking well.
