Board of Assessors · Meeting of October 13, 2026

Newbury Board of Assessors approved minutes and signed a $53,287 motor vehicle excise commitment as it previewed the town's five-year property revaluation. Principal Assessor Jason DiScipio told Chairperson Frank "Budd" Kelley the state Department of Revenue has signed off on the town's valuation methods and that proposed property values are now posted on the town website and at Town Hall. DiScipio said single-family values are "up still slightly" under the new LA-4 report and that classification hearings, which set tax rates by property type, have slipped to mid-November because of DOR review delays.

The board also approved three motor vehicle excise abatements totaling $3,656.64 across fiscal 2024, 2025 and 2026, and set its next meeting for November 10.
