NEWBURY — The Human Resources Board reported the hiring of Library Director Aila Colburn and other personnel actions at its August 24 meeting. Colburn, who previously worked in Merrimac and Haverhill, started on August 4, 2026. Board member Diane Doyle reported that the Assistant Town Clerk position has been converted from part-time to full-time, with applications now being received.
The Police Department has also enrolled a Student Officer in the Academy and hired one part-time Patrolman and one part-time Emergency Communications Officer.
