Human Resource Board · Meeting of October 26, 2026

Newbury's Human Resource Board reviewed a round of municipal staff turnover at its October 26 meeting. Diane Doyle told members the town's fire chief will retire November 2, with a search underway for his replacement, and that Brian Lambara took over as director of inspectional services October 14 after Peter Burnett retired October 13. The assistant town clerk position, now full-time at 32 hours, was filled by a returning former employee who started September 23 ahead of upcoming elections.

Doyle also said a long-vacant assessor's clerk position has been filled and that one police academy trainee is set to join the force in December, with two more entering the academy. The board, with Chief Fisher absent, reported no discrimination or safety complaints and scheduled its next meetings for November 30 and January 4.
