Newbury Recreation Committee approves Field House for Council on Aging pickleball. Chair David Broll and the committee voted to reserve the Field House Thursdays 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. from January 4 through April 2026 for the Council on Aging's pickleball and ping-pong program, with a volunteer assigned to open the building. Additional actions include tasking members John Reagan and Daniel Jones to survey a proposed Cross Country trail location, recommending a joint maintenance schedule with the Department of Public Works, and obtaining competitive quotes for permanent shade structures for court users.
Water bubbler installation is planned for spring.
