NEWBURY — The Newbury Open Space Committee finalized preparations for a second public input meeting on its draft Open Space and Recreation Plan, scheduled for September 15 at Town Hall. Chair Bill Hoffman and other committee members assigned presentation responsibilities, with members distributing segments of the slide presentation. The committee also organized materials for the public session, including colored stickers for voting on action priorities and scrap paper for resident suggestions.

During the meeting, resident Steve Mangion questioned the inclusion of the Community Preservation Act as a potential funding mechanism in the plan, citing its rejection at a town meeting over a decade ago; the committee explained that the CPA remains in the draft as one possible source for open space funding.
