Newbury Open Space Committee advances plan with May 19 comment deadline. The committee reviewed its multiyear comprehensive open space plan update in a May 12 Zoom meeting, with the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission currently examining sections 1 through 5. Committee members will review draft sections on the Action Plan and Analysis of Needs, submitting written comments to Planning Director Kristen Grubbs and Assistant Planner Sadie Woodward by May 19.
The committee will also complete remaining tasks including updating the Chapter 61 Lands table, reviewing Greenbelt Prioritization maps, and reviewing the Massachusetts State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan document. The committee's next meeting is June 2, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
