Planning Board recommends Zoning Board expansion for town meeting

NEWBURY — Planning Board recommends ZBA membership expansion for town vote. Chair Woody Knight, Members Lawrence Murphy and Stephen Mangion voted 3-0 to recommend the Zoning Board of Appeals membership increase from three to five members for consideration at the 2026 Annual Town Meeting, with Zoning Board of Appeals Chair Eric Svahn describing the rationale for the expansion. The Planning Board also endorsed an Approval Not Required Plan for 7-13 Main Street for lot line adjustments and approved a one-year extension for the Colantoni Crossing subdivision to March 30, 2027, both in 3-0 votes.

The board continued the public hearing for a two-lot subdivision at 15 Central Street to April 1, 2026.
