NEWBURY — Recreation Committee approves field requests and authorizes facility upgrades. Committee Chair David Broll and members John Reagan, Mary Anastasio, Michael Crouch, and Cindy Currier of the Council on Aging approved cornhole and Rush youth program field requests at their August 10 meeting, with the Rush request pending coordination with Cori, proof of insurance, and payment. The committee authorized $2,735 in sprinkler work including 12 new sprinkler heads and system startup.

The Council on Aging pickleball program will end at the end of August due to low participation, though the committee discussed reopening an advanced class next year and plans to replace the damaged temporary court shade structure with a permanent installation.
