Newbury Planning Board sets March 4 Zoom hearing on zoning bylaw amendments

Planning Board · Meeting of February 12, 2026

Newbury Planning Board schedules March 4 Zoom hearing on proposed zoning bylaw amendments. Meeting via Zoom on the evening of March 4, 2026, at 7 p.m., the board will hold a required public hearing on zoning bylaw changes referred by the Select Board ahead of the 2026 Annual Town Meeting. Chair Woody Knight, Clerk Lawrence Murphy, and Vice Chair Peter Paicos voted 3-0 to set the date and format at a brief February 12 session that lasted only minutes.

The board debated briefly whether to use a hybrid format before Murphy noted that hybrid meetings require a physical quorum and that Zoom "is what everyone is used to" — the same model the board has used throughout its recent meetings.
