Newbury Recreation Commission approves concession vendors, summer field use

Recreation Commission · Meeting of March 2, 2026

Newbury Recreation Commission clears concession vendors and locks in summer event dates. The board voted unanimously to let vendors Olivia McDonald and Ashley Plomondon sell food from the town's concession building on Saturdays, April 11 through June 7, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., pending Board of Health approval and free of charge. Member Michael Crouch told the board McDonald "reached out about looking to use our concession area," prompting questions about secure storage inside the shared space.

The commission also approved its annual car show for August 14, rain date August 21, and a summer field-use request from youth club MA Rush for June 2 through August 13. Members flagged a $53 disputed trash-pickup charge and a $1,720.50 water bubbler filler purchase, and voted to cancel their April meeting, moving the next session to May 4.
