Open Space Committee advances Open Space and Recreation Plan update

NEWBURY — The Newbury Open Space Committee advanced updates to its recreation and open space plan at Tuesday's meeting. Committee members Mike Carbone, Bill Hoffman, Christina Hoffman, Jim Dooling, and Sean McElroy, along with Assistant Planner Sadie Woodward, met with Merrimack Valley Planning Commission consultants Kay Emery and Sophie Ulik to review maps and data on agricultural land, open space, and water resources. Carbone, Bill Hoffman, and Martha Taylor were assigned to review the 2010 plan for relevant action items to carry forward.
The committee also scheduled a Riverbank Revival planting event for April 17 to stabilize Parker River banks after the fall 2025 removal of the Larkin Dam.
